As an active community member, she has volunteered time to support the Transcona Food Bank, Plessis Family Resource Centre, Transcona Sea Cadets, Canterbury Park Greenspace Committee, First Transcona Scout Hall, and the Elmwood & Transcona Legion.

She was raised in a strong community-oriented family, with both her parents volunteering on local library and museum boards and at local community clubs. Her father, Bill Dance, had a lifelong career at CN Rail and was a strong activist with the United Transportation Union.

Leila has worked to create connections between people and to support and build local programs that improve the lives of our neighbours with solutions that meet people where they’re at. She wants to continue this community work on a larger scale as your Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona.

Leila Dance is running to build on the work of Daniel Blaikie and New Democrats in Manitoba by fighting to make life more affordable for working families and improving our healthcare for seniors, and everyone in Elmwood-Transcona.
